Sunway University was founded in 2004 under the name Sunway University College. In January 2011, the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education elevated its status to a full-fledged university, officially renaming it Sunway University. Notably, Tan Sri Sir Dr. Jeffrey Cheah, KBE AO, stands as the esteemed founder and chairman of Sunway Group, a prominent conglomerate spanning 13 business divisions and operating in over 50 global locations. Additionally, he serves as the founder and trustee of the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation (JCF).
