LUT University (Lappeenranta–Lahti University of Technology LUT) is a public science university in Finland, bringing together the fields of technology, business and social sciences.

Established in 1969 in the city center of Lappeenranta, LTKK commenced operations with an inaugural class of 39 students. The initial structures of the present Skinnarila district campus were finalized in 1974. In 1991, the Lappeenranta Campus expanded to include the Department of Business Administration, prompting a name change to Lappeenrannan teknillinen yliopisto (LTY/LUT) in 2003. LUT University officially launched its permanent operations in Lahti in 1996 as a compact research unit. While the University of Kuopio and University of Joensuu merged into the University of Eastern Finland in 2010, LUT remained independent, retaining both its Lappeenranta campus and its established presence in Lahti. The university is commonly referred to by its English name, Lappeenranta University of Technology, with the abbreviation LUT synonymous with its identity in Lappeenranta.
LUT is widely known for its focus on sustainability and sustainable development. In the 2022 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, LUT ranked ninth in the world for its climate action. Sustainability can be seen anywhere from the campus cafeterias to students' coursework.
