Overview

Our program delves into three pivotal scenarios shaping the future of energy solutions: harnessing renewable energy sources like hydro, solar, wind, wave, and bioenergy; exploring safe nuclear power; and adopting carbon capture and use technologies. At the heart of energy engineering, this program propels you into a career defined by pioneering technologies. Suited for those fascinated by technology and driven to apply mathematics and natural sciences as tools, our curriculum focuses on the efficient and environmentally friendly production and distribution of energy—the essence of our daily well-being.

Admission Requirements

  • 4 Grades in Physics and a Pass in Advanced Mathematics OR
  • 4 Grades in Chemistry and a Pass in Advanced Mathematics (not applicable for computational engineering) OR
  • 4 Grades in Advanced Mathematics
  • IELTS Academic – Minimum overall score: 6.0 with a minimum score of 5.5 in writing
  • TOEFL iBT – 80
  • PTE Academic – 60

The Bachelor’s Programme in Energy Technology is a three-year double degree programme. The programme leads to the degree of Bachelor of Science in Technology, B.Sc. (Tech.), which is 180 ECTS credits.

The programme includes general, intermediate specialisation, minor, language and elective studies as well as a Bachelor’s thesis at the end of the studies.

After completing a bachelor’s degree in energy technology, you can continue your studies in one of LUT’s master’s programmes in energy technology: Energy Conversion, Nuclear Engineering or Sustainable Energy Systems. You can also apply separately to the Finnish-language master’s programme Energiatekniikan EnTeDI.
