About this Study Course

The Master of Fine Arts in Architecture is an innovative research-based M.A. program that empowers students to advance their architectural ideas and practices. It fosters independent exploration across various art and design disciplines, challenging traditional architectural norms. Under the guidance of renowned experts at the Faculty for the Built Environment, students develop unique proposals in areas such as schematic design, space planning, light and color perception, theory, modeling, and materials. The program culminates in a dissertation that encourages students to articulate their ideas clearly and comprehensively.

Overview

This program offers a project-based research approach, allowing students to use studio-based or practice-based portfolios as mediums for their research. The curriculum includes theoretical, studio-based, or practice-based research, seminar presentations, and a dissertation of at least 15,000 words. During seminars, students demonstrate their ability to utilize available information and literature in their field, review relevant literature, and communicate effectively. Throughout the program, students develop a profound understanding of their research subject and demonstrate critical awareness of current issues and new insights in their chosen field.
