As you progress through the program, you’ll immerse yourself in over 1,400 hours of lecture-free training, gaining hands-on experience in both university and privately owned practices. Our state-of-the-art facilities at UQ Gatton’s Small Animal Hospital and Equine Specialist Hospital offer unparalleled hands-on learning opportunities, ensuring you graduate with confidence and competence.

Admission Requirements

  • Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent) with specific subject prerequisites in English, Chemistry, Mathematical Methods, and either Physics or Biology.
  • Situational judgment test with a score higher than two standard deviations below the mean for the year of application.
  • Meet English language proficiency requirements through tests such as IELTS, TOEFL iBT, or PTE Academic.
