The island campus provides an ideal setting to learn from world leaders in Environmental, Antarctic, Marine, and Climate Law. As part of our commitment to fostering real-world impact, our law school hosts the Tasmanian Law Reform Institute, allowing you to contribute to law reform, particularly in criminal law.

Explore global perspectives on pressing challenges such as gene-editing, legal regulation of biotechnology, armed conflict regulation, and the prosecution of war crimes. After successfully completing the 3.5-year Bachelor of Laws, seamlessly transition into the six-month Tasmanian Legal Practice Course, becoming eligible for legal practice the same year you graduate.

Admission Requirements

  • English Language Requirements: IELTS (Academic) of 6.5, with no individual band less than 6.0, or PTE Academic score of 58, with no score lower than 50 or equivalent.
  • General Entry Requirements: Completion of qualifications equivalent to a 12th year of education in Australia.
  • Course-specific Requirements: Admission conditional on research project and supervisor availability, with evidence of English language proficiency.
