Admission Requirements

  • a bachelor’s degree with good grades, or
  • a bachelor’s degree with relevant professional work experience, or
  • a Postgraduate Certificate in Translation and Interpreting or Postgraduate Diploma in Translation and Interpreting with at least a B grade average, or
  • other qualifications of an equivalent standard.
  • CAE or CPE: Score of 176 with a minimum of 169 in reading, writing, listening and speaking
  • IELTS Academic: An average score of 6.5, with a minimum of 6.0 in reading, writing, listening and speaking
  • NZAPA: English New Zealand Accredited Pathway Assessment Level 3
  • NZCEL: Level 5
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic): PTE with an overall score of 58
  • TOEFL iBT: Total minimum score of 90, minimum score of 19 in reading, writing and listening
  • LANC401 In Other Words What: Theory and Practice of Translation and Interpreting
  • LANC403 Translating in the Digital Era: Tools and Practices OR LANC404 Translating and Interpreting for the Community
