Admission Requirements

  • Potential students can come from a variety of undergraduate backgrounds. You will need a B Grade Point Average in 300-level bachelor’s degree courses, or have evidence of achievement at postgraduate level.
  • CAE or CPE: Score of 176 with a minimum of 169 in reading, writing, listening and speaking
  • IELTS Academic: An average score of 6.5, with a minimum of 6.0 in reading, writing, listening and speaking
  • NZAPA: English New Zealand Accredited Pathway Assessment Level 3
  • NZCEL: Level 5
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic): PTE with an overall score of 58
  • TOEFL iBT: Total minimum score of 90, minimum score of 19 in reading, writing and listening
  • Up to three Foundation Courses
  • Four courses from advanced data science competencies
  • Remaining courses from relevant elective options
  • DATA601 Applied Data Science Project (45 points)
  • Study full-time in a minimum of 1 year, or part-time in a maximum of 3 years
  • Begin your degree off-campus from any location with online study, then complete the final semester and project on campus at UC
