Embark on a journey of scientific discovery with the Certificate in Science (CertSc) at UC. This program empowers students to explore their passion for science through a curated selection of courses spanning various disciplines. From astronomy to medicinal chemistry, students have the opportunity to tailor their studies to align with their interests and career aspirations. With the flexibility to study full-time for one semester or part-time for up to six years, the CertSc accommodates diverse learning needs. Furthermore, credits earned from this certificate can be transferred to relevant degrees, offering a seamless pathway to further education.

Admission Requirements

  • Admission to UC with University Entrance (or equivalent) is required to enrol.
  • CAE or CPE: Minimum score of 169 with at least 162 in reading, writing, listening and speaking
  • IELTS Academic: Academic with an average score of 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 in reading, writing, listeningNZAPA: English New Zealand Accredited Pathway Assessment Level 3
  • NZCEL: Level 4 – Academic endorsement.
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic): PTE with an overall score of 50
  • TOEFL iBT: Total minimum score of 80, with at least 19 in reading, writing and listening

The CertSc requires four courses at 100 and/or 200-level from a diverse range of subjects, including astronomy, biochemistry, chemistry, computer science, economics, environmental science, psychology, and more.
