Overview

The latter half of the first year at Oral Hygiene from the University of Pretoria is dedicated to immersive training in the pre-clinical training ward. Starting from the second year, students actively engage with patients in the state-of-the-art Oral and Dental Hospital. This hands-on experience encompasses various aspects, including patient education, oral hygiene instruction, teeth polishing and scaling, fluoride application, fissure-sealing agents application, and more. Students also gain proficiency in certain restorations and local anesthesia administration.
