Admission Requirements

  • General university entrance qualification (Abitur)
  • Subject-linked university entrance qualification
  • Delta examination of the University of Mannheim (for holders of a Fachhochschulreife)
  • Recognized diploma of advanced vocational training or an aptitude test for vocationally qualified persons
  • Proof of completion of the Lehrerorientierungstest („Career Counselling for Teachers“ (CCT))
  • Equivalence of foreign school-leaving qualifications certified by the responsible Regierungspraesidium (regional authority)
  • Additional requirements may apply for non-EU nationals, including university entrance tests, completed years of education, or the “Feststellungsprüfung” (test of aptitude of foreign applicants for studies at universities in Germany).
  • Specialist Sciences in First Subject: 70 credits
  • Subject Didactics for First Subject: 8 credits
  • Specialist Sciences in Second Subject: 70 credits
  • Subject Didactics for Second Subject: 8 credits
  • Educational Sciences: 8 credits
  • Orientation Internship: 4 credits
