Overview
The MRes History of Art allows you to pursue research in any aspect of art history, tailored to your interests and agreed upon with your supervisor. Much of the teaching occurs at the Barber Institute of Fine Arts, which boasts an impressive gallery collection, a dedicated research library, and specialized study rooms. This setting is not just a backdrop but an active part of your learning experience. Admission Requirements
- A good (normally 2:1 or above) Honours degree or an equivalent qualification in a relevant area.
- For PhD applicants, a Master’s qualification at Merit level or above (or its international equivalent) in a relevant field is required.
- Consideration is given to relevant academic and professional experience.
- For distance learning research programs, demonstrate time, commitment, facilities, and experience for studying by distance learning.
- International qualifications are accepted; please refer to the university’s qualification guide.
- English language requirements: IELTS 6.5 (with no less than 6.0 in any band), TOEFL 88, Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic 59, or Cambridge English Advanced with a minimum score of 176. Alternative options include enrolling in an English for Academic Purposes Presessional Course.
