Admission Requirements

  • A good (normally a 2:1 or above) Honours degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant area.
  • For PhD applications, a Masters qualification at Merit level or above is required.
  • Academic and professional qualifications or relevant experience are considered.
  • Distance learning applicants must demonstrate sufficient time, commitment, and resources.
  • International students must meet specific country qualifications and English language requirements (IELTS 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in any band, or equivalent tests like TOEFL, PTE, Cambridge English).

  • Byzantine Archaeology and Material Culture (Optional Module)
  • Gender in Byzantium II (Optional Module)
  • The Economies of the Late Roman, Byzantine and Frankish East (Optional Module)
  • Ancient Language Options (Greek 1, 2, 3; Greek Texts; Latin 1, 2, 3; Latin Texts)
