The Molecular Mechanistic Toxicology MRes is a pivotal program in one of the fastest-growing areas of toxicology. This program immerses you in research-oriented training, applying molecular and cell biology to uncover the cellular and molecular mechanisms of chemical toxicity. As part of a vibrant and interactive academic community, you will delve into the cutting-edge use of molecular, cell biology, and omics techniques. This includes identifying adverse outcome pathways (AOPs) and developing a mechanistic understanding of chemical toxicity, essential for chemical risk assessment and the creation of high-throughput toxicity screens. Over the course of one year, you will engage in a full-time, immersive program designed to prepare you for the forefront of toxicological research and application.
Admission Requirements
- At least a 2:1 Honours degree with a substantial component of molecular biology
- Standard English language requirements (IELTS: 6.0 overall with no less than 5.5 in any band)
- TOEFL: 80 overall with no less than 19 in Reading, 19 in Listening, 21 in Speaking, and 19 in Writing
- Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic: 64 with no less than 59 in all four skills
- Cambridge English Advanced: Minimum overall score of 169, with no less than 162 in any component
