Admission Requirements

  • You will need to have completed a bachelor’s degree in a subject relevant to mathematics (or other approved subjects), and have passed at least 60 points of your 300-level courses with at least a B grade average.
  • You may also enrol with other relevant qualifications of an equivalent standard, with approval.
  • CAE or CPE: Score of 176 with a minimum of 169 in reading, writing, listening and speaking
  • IELTS Academic: An average score of 6.5, with a minimum of 6.0 in reading, writing, listening and speaking
  • NZAPA: English New Zealand Accredited Pathway Assessment Level 3
  • NZCEL: Level 5
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic): PTE with an overall score of 58
  • TOEFL iBT: Total minimum score of 90, minimum score of 19 in reading, writing and listening
  • Unendorsed pathway
  • MASC684 MMathSci Project (45 points) OR MASC686 MMathSci Project (60 points)
  • Depending on the project course chosen, complete another 45 or 60 points in any approved 400-level courses at UC.
  • Plus 75 points chosen from Mathematics, Statistics, and Data Science courses.
