About this Study Course
The Master of Education in Mathematics is designed to deepen your understanding of mathematics as a structural science while preparing you for a dynamic career in education. This program focuses on proving statements about mathematical structures using logic and constructing comprehensive theories that can be applied to real-world scenarios. Engage with cutting-edge research in areas such as arithmetic, geometry, algebra, mathematical analysis, probability and statistics, linear algebra, and mathematical modeling. With a strong emphasis on current trends and future possibilities, this program equips you to become a leader in mathematics education, ready to inspire the next generation of learners.
Overview
Building on the foundational knowledge acquired during a bachelor’s degree, the Master of Education in Mathematics places a stronger emphasis on educational sciences and subject didactics. This approach not only enhances your understanding of mathematical concepts but also equips you with the pedagogical skills necessary to effectively teach these concepts. You’ll explore a wide range of methodologies for conducting mathematical proofs, varying problem-solving approaches, and fostering a learning environment where students discover the joy of mathematics.
The program addresses the diverse needs of students, including those with different mathematical backgrounds, creativity levels, and learning challenges such as dyscalculia. In addition to mathematics, you will choose a second school subject and engage in educational sciences, culminating in a practical semester that provides hands-on teaching experience. This comprehensive approach ensures that you are well-prepared to address heterogeneity in the classroom and foster a positive learning environment.
