You will follow a flexible program with a wide range of modules. Core modules in Globalisation and Governance and International Political Economy lay the foundation, while a variety of optional modules allow you to tailor your studies to your specific interests. As a member of the Department of Political Science and International Studies (POLSIS), you will have the opportunity to participate in various events and become part of the International Political Economy research group, which includes academic staff and postgraduate research students who regularly discuss their research, recent publications, and organize research events with visiting speakers.

Throughout the program, you will examine key issues such as the theoretical foundations of International Political Economy (IPE), the history of global capitalism, changes to the global political and economic order, and contemporary issues including international economic organizations and regimes, development, poverty and inequality, gender, and environmental sustainability.

Admission Requirements

  • English language requirements for non-native speakers:
    • IELTS: 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in any band
    • TOEFL: 88 overall with no less than 21 in Reading, 20 in Listening, 22 in Speaking, and 21 in Writing
    • Pearson Test of English (PTE): Academic 67 with no less than 64 in all four skills
    • Cambridge English: Advanced – minimum overall score of 176, with no less than 169 in any component
