About this Study Course
In the 21st century, policy-making has become a complex and dynamic process, reflecting the rapidly changing global landscape and the multifaceted issues that policymakers must address. The MA/PGDip Global Public Policy program equips you with the knowledge and skills to navigate this complexity. You’ll delve into current trends and future possibilities in global policy, exploring how policies are crafted and implemented in response to evolving social, political, economic, and environmental challenges. This program will immerse you in the critical questions of our time, such as how to manage global migration, combat climate change, and address social inequalities, preparing you to make impactful contributions to public policy on a global scale.
Overview
Traditional policy-making models are increasingly challenged by devolution and the rise of supranational governance. This program seeks to understand how policy is formulated in this dynamic context, drawing on core concepts of policy analysis and theories of policy change. You will explore the roles of various policy actors, coalitions, and forms of evidence in shaping effective policy. The program covers the policy-making architecture at local, regional, and supranational levels and examines the historical, social, political, and economic contexts that influence policy formulation. Through a range of modules, including options for work placements, you can tailor the curriculum to match your interests and career aspirations, gaining practical experience and theoretical insights that will prepare you for a successful career in global public policy.
