Admission Requirements

  • Entry to the Graduate Diploma requires a bachelor’s degree, which does not need to be in the same area of study. If you gained your qualification overseas, this will need to be assessed to ensure it is of an equivalent standard.
  • Acceptance will depend on the standard and relevance of previous studies.
  • CAE or CPE: Score of 176 with a minimum of 169 in reading, writing, listening and speaking
  • IELTS Academic: An average score of 6.5, with a minimum of 6.0 in reading, writing, listening and speaking
  • NZAPA: English New Zealand Accredited Pathway Assessment Level 3
  • NZCEL: Level 5
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic): PTE with an overall score of 58
  • TOEFL iBT: Total minimum score of 90, minimum score of 19 in reading, writing and listening
  • Completion of 120 points, with at least 90 points at the 300-level
  • At least 60 points from a single subject in the following list:
    • Astronomy
