About this Study Course
The Food Standards Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Module is a comprehensive introduction to key areas of food standards. Tailored primarily for enforcement bodies, this module is also highly relevant to professionals across various food industry sectors where accurate food labeling and composition are crucial. With a focus on current trends and future developments, this module empowers you to stay ahead in the evolving landscape of food standards. Imagine gaining the expertise to influence and enhance food safety protocols, ensuring compliance and consumer trust in a dynamic industry.
Overview
The Food Standards CPD Module serves as an essential foundation in food standards, targeted at food safety officers who have obtained the Higher Certificate in Food Premises Inspection (HCFPI). Completing this module fulfills half of the requirements to convert to a Higher Certificate in Food Control (HCFC), as mandated by the Food Law Code of Practice. Accredited by the Environmental Health Registration Board, this 10-credit module is conducted over five days through a blend of online and face-to-face sessions at the University of Birmingham Edgbaston Campus.
Participants will engage in a comprehensive curriculum that includes a case study assessment submitted at a later date. Successful completion certifies that candidates are qualified to carry out official controls in food standards, meeting the criteria for the Higher Certificate in Food Control. This qualification authorizes officers to exercise specific powers under section 9 of the Food Safety Act 1990, positioning them as pivotal players in the enforcement of food safety regulations.
