About this Study Course

The Education for Health Professionals MEd/PGDip/PGCert program offers a dynamic, part-time, three-year suite of programs designed for all health professionals engaged in the education and training of undergraduates and postgraduates. This program is tailored to current trends and future possibilities in health education, providing a comprehensive foundation in educational theory, practical teaching skills, and research methodologies. As healthcare evolves, the need for skilled educators who can effectively train the next generation of health professionals has never been greater. Our program equips you with the skills and knowledge to meet this challenge, fostering both academic and clinical excellence.

Overview

In the rapidly changing landscape of healthcare, the role of education is crucial. Our part-time Education for Health Professionals program is structured to accommodate the busy schedules of health professionals. Each year of the program is self-contained, allowing you to earn a Postgraduate Certificate (PG Cert) in the first year, a Postgraduate Diploma (PG Dip) in the second year, and a Masters (MEd) in the third year. This progressive structure ensures that you can build your expertise incrementally while applying your learning directly to your professional context.

The PG Cert focuses on developing your teaching and learning capabilities, grounding you in essential educational theories and practices. As you advance to the PG Dip, the emphasis shifts to enhancing your research skills, enabling you to design and conduct educational research projects. The final year, culminating in the MEd, involves completing a significant research dissertation, positioning you as an expert in the field of health education. This program welcomes health professionals from diverse backgrounds, whether you are a doctor, nurse, dentist, or allied health professional, from the UK or abroad.
