Overview
At the forefront of cardiovascular research, we leverage advanced technology to support groundbreaking discoveries across four main themes. In Cardiac Diseases, we explore the intricate relationships between genetics, environment, lifestyle, and heart function. Our Thrombosis and Haemostasis research pioneers new therapeutic interventions, while our Vascular Biology, Inflammation, and Angiogenesis team delves into the multifaceted biology of endothelial cells. Our Imaging and Technology experts innovate novel ways to visualize cardiovascular systems both in vitro and in vivo.
You’ll work alongside a diverse, multidisciplinary team of world-renowned researchers, producing original and impactful research that addresses the causes, prevention, and treatment of cardiovascular disease. This programme provides comprehensive training in high-quality research, enabling you to conduct independent investigative research and make significant contributions to combating the world’s biggest killer.
Admission Requirements
- A 2:1 Honours degree or equivalent in a relevant subject.
- For international students:
- IELTS: 6.5 overall with no less than 6.0 in any band.
- TOEFL: 80 overall with no less than 19 in Reading, 19 in Listening, 21 in Speaking, and 19 in Writing.
- Pearson Test of English (PTE): Academic 64 with no less than 59 in all four skills.
- Cambridge English (post-2015 exams): Advanced, minimum overall score of 169 with no less than 162 in any component.
