About this Study Course

The Bachelor of Arts in Vietnamese offers students a deep dive into the national language of Vietnam, spoken by approximately 85 million people, making it the most widely spoken language in Mainland Southeast Asia. This minor focuses on providing comprehensive training in listening comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing. As a tonal and monosyllabic language belonging to the Mon-Khmer or Austroasiatic language family, Vietnamese presents unique linguistic challenges and opportunities.

The program prepares students not only to communicate effectively in everyday situations but also to engage with specialized and academic texts, fostering a profound understanding of Vietnam’s intellectual and cultural life. This minor is an excellent complement to various major fields of study, opening up diverse career paths and intercultural opportunities in the global landscape.

The Vietnamese minor at our university offers an immersive introduction to the language, covering essential grammar and communication skills. The program is designed to take students from basic conversational ability to the competence required for understanding complex academic texts.

By integrating practical language tutorials with e-learning units, students gain a well-rounded and dynamic educational experience.
