GRE:

It stands for Graduate Record Examinations.
It is Administered by ETS (Education Testing Service).
Other than management program candidates who wish to opt for reputed US or Canadian Universities go for GRE.
GRE measures Quantitative Reasoning, Critical Thinking, Verbal Reasoning, Analytical Writing.
Validity for GRE score is of 5 years.
Centers for GRE are Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai.
While Visa application more weightage is given to high GRE score.
Candidates with high GRE score have higher chances of scholarship.

(A) GENERAL GRE:

For rescheduling or cancelling the test intimation has to be given before 7 days.
GRE is Computer Adaptive Test(CAT).
In a year candidate can appear for test for 5 times.
GRE test is of 340 marks.

(B) Subject GRE:

Subject GRE is a paper based test.
Test can be given as many times it is offered.
Subjects that are offered are Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Literature in English, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology.

GMAT

It stands for Graduate Management Admission Test.
It is Administered by Graduate Management Admission Council.
GMAT is preferred for the candidates who wish to take admission into MBA program.
GMAT score is valid generally for 5 years.
Centers for GMAT includes Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Cochin, Chandigarh, Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Pune, Kolkata, Mumbai, Trivandrum, Patna.
For rescheduling or cancelling the test intimation has to be given before 7 days.
GMAT is Computer Adaptive Test(CAT).
In a year candidate can appear for test for 5 times.
GMAT test is of 800 marks.
While Visa application more weightage is given to high GMAT score.
Candidates with high GMAT score have higher chances of scholarship.

SAT

SAT stands for Scholastic Assessment Test.

SAT: Reasoning Test

It is owned and published by College Board and Administered by ETS.
Centers for SAT are Bangalore, Kolkata, Cochin, Hyderabad, Kodaikanal, Chennai, Mumbai, Mussourie, New Delhi, Pune, Ahmedabad.
For rescheduling the test intimation has to be given before 7 days.
SAT is paper based test.
No limitation in giving test.
SAT test is of 1600 marks.
While Visa application more weightage is given to high SAT score.
Candidates with high SAT score have higher chances of scholarship.

SAT: Subject Test

Subject test is required for admission into a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine, Engineering etc.
Subjects include Math Level I, Math Level II, Physics, Chemistry, Biology E/M, English Literature, US History, World History, Languages.

IELTS

It stands for International English Language Testing System.
It is owned and managed by IELTS Australia, The British Council and The University of Cambridge- ESOL
It checks the expertise over English language.
Skills covered are Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.
It is a paper based test.
IELTS is accepted by all Australian, British, Canadian and New Zealand institutions.
Result of test appears in two weeks.
Paper is assessed at 9 levels also called as bands.
Each module is given assessment from 1 to 9 bands and an overall average band.
Validity of result is of 2 years.

TOEFL IBT

It stands for Test of English as a Foreign Language.
Administered by Educational Testing Service.
It is required for the students applying to universities in America and Canada to check their command over English language.
Score of TOEFL is valid for 2 years.
There are more than 50 centers in India.
For rescheduling or cancelling the test intimation has to be given to ETS before 3 days.
It is an internet based test(iBT).
TOEFL test dates are fixed.
Test is of 120 marks.
