Quick Ways to Lose Weight: My Experience With the Master Cleanse Diet

By now you've probably heard about the Master Cleanse, and how it can rejuvenate your body in ten days.  Also known as the Lemonade Diet, it was created by Stanley Burroughs in 1941.  His book, "The Master Cleanser," was first published in 1950 and can still be found on Amazon.com.  But don't rush out and buy the book just yet.

The essence of the Master Cleanse system involves replacing all meals for ten days with a drink of lemon juice, cayenne pepper and Grade B maple syrup.  The results people are getting seem amazing, but there's something about the Master Cleanse nobody is telling you.  It has nothing to do with the results you'll get because you can see some really amazing things happen to your body in those ten days you spend on the master Cleanse.  Here's the unfortunate truth:

The Master Cleanse is not easy.

By the third day I had a dull headache and was - or so my friends claimed - cranky (you try not eating for three days).  I noticed, however, that I was also feeling less bloated and my clothes fit better.  The headache passed by the fourth day, and my crankiness began to give way to a sense of well-being.  I felt more energized and...lighter.  That - plus the fact that I could wear a pair of jeans I had given up on five months ago - motivated me not to give up.

The next six days passed rather quickly.  I wasn't spending hours a day engrossed in food - shopping, preparing, eating - so I had more free time each day.  Although I wasn't inclined to engage in aerobics, I did find the energy to start walking on my treadmill (it's not a clothes hanger after all).  By the end of the tenth day, I could no longer wear many of the clothes I started with because they were too big!

Getting past the "cranky" stage of the Master Cleanse is the first hurdle.  But it's a little easier if you keep your goal in mind and remember this phase will pass.  The second challenge is not going immediately to the closest Dunkin Donuts and in ten minutes, undoing ten days worth of work.  The system I used - Rayleen Sterling's "Master Cleanse Secrets" - helped me understand not only what to expect during the ten-day dieting process, but how to "come off" the fast in such a way that the trip to Dunkin Donuts wasn't necessary.

The bottom line:  The Master Cleanse is one of the most effective but more difficult methods of fast weight loss.  But if you prepare yourself appropriately, you'll quickly get beyond the discomfort and start enjoying the positive changes in your body.  I highly recommend Rayleen Sterling's "Master Cleanse Secrets" system.  Unlike Stanley Burroughs, Rayleen provides you with tools to guide and assist you through the ten days.  By helping you deal with the hunger and somje of the other roadblocks that pop up during the Master Cleanse, this book has helped people who might not have lasted a day on the Master Cleanse otherwise.  You can find her program at my website:  http://WeightLossParadise.com.

If you're looking for a method of fast weight loss, the Master Cleanse may be for you.  Just be careful to prepare yourself before, during and after the weight loss process.  And best wishes for success on your diet journey.

Calli Andrews has struggled with weight for many years. She recently went on a search to locate the most effective diet plans. After a year, she narrowed the choices down to four - the four that led to her successful weight loss. She would like to share her experience with others and perhaps augment their diet plan research. Check out her website at http://WeightLossParadise.com to see the four programs she found most helpful.
